Bae All Day: Rocc

Rocc — @rocc__

Rocc is a stunning model and talented swimwear designer based in Los Angeles, California. As the CEO of Forbidden Fruit Swimwear, Rocc has proven there is no limit to what a woman with a dream and a vision can achieve.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? How did you get to where you are today?

“Growing up, I always wanted to have a clothing line. I didn’t think that I had the resources to start my own line, so instead, I went into the nursing field. I love helping people but i realized a few years ago how unhappy I was and that gave me the drive to start my own company.”

What’s one thing you are super passionate about, that most people don’t know?

“I am super passionate about my swimsuit line…. I have so many visions and dreams of how I want this company to be in the future.”

If you could be anyone for a day (dead or alive) who would it be and why?

“If I could be anyone for one day, it would have to be Beyonce. I adore her! Not only is she ridiculously beautiful, but I love how passionate she is about her craft. She is such a hard worker, I admire that.”

Single or taken? What’s your #1 turn on? What’s your #1 turn off?

“I am taken! My #1 turn on is someone who is secure in who they are and knows what they bring to the table. My #1 turn off is someone who is insecure and inconsistent.”

What is it like being a female CEO in today’s world? What’s one of the biggest lessons you have learned?

“I feel like right now being a female CEO is fucking amazeballs! Women are at a point where they are not afraid to do things the way they want to do it. I have so many boss ladies in my circle right now, and it’s pretty dope to be around that type of energy. I’ve learned that I need to always stay true to myself.”

Where did you get the idea to start your company, Forbidden Fruits?

“I got the idea of starting a swim line because I could never find swimsuits that fit me properly. I had all these ideas but could never find anything like my thoughts in the store. The name came from how I viewed myself as a woman. I liked the idea of ‘you can look, but don’t touch’ type of feeling.”

You’re friends with Ciera Rogers who also owns her own company, what’s that like to have other bad ass female friends in a generation where woman are encouraged to tear down other women?

“Ciera Rogers is such a huge inspiration to myself and others. She’s so passionate about her business. I love the fact that she embraces her curves. She has made others feel confident in themselves.”

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to younger females trying to start their own company?

“My advice to anyone trying to start their own company is to do your RESEARCH! That’s exactly what Ciera told me. It wasn’t easy, but I never gave up. Research, Plan and execute.”

What’s next for Rocc? What can your fans expect in the upcoming future?

“I have just launched a bodysuit line.I’mm really excited about it. Designing spring/summer2017. You can expect more edge with detailed simplicity. I’m just getting started. Wait on it!”
