Instagram Artist Spotlight: Gurekbal Singh Bhachu

We’ve already shined a light on some of our favorite influencer fan art that we found on Instagram, but now we want to highlight a specific artist who is currently going viral.

Instagrammer @g_singh_b is best known, right now, for his hyper-realistic picture of Kendrick Lamar.

I have to say, upon finishing this drawing of @kendricklamar This might be one of my favourite pieces. The fur coat really makes it stand out from the rest of my other portraits and each area was a challenge in itself. I feel like I should start filling in the background though ? As always, thank you all for engaging with my work from your enquiries to your kind comments, it’s all greatly appreciated. Hope you’re having a great day, much love 🙂 Pencils: Faber Castell 9000 Paper: A4 Bristol Board (Winsor & Newton) Eraser: Tombow Mono Zero Blending: Cotton Bud/Q-tip Highlights: Sakura Souffle White Gel Pen #art #art_hyperrealism #art_supernova #artistic_unity_ #artist #pencil #illustration #drawing #sketch #artistic_nation #spotlightonartists #wip #worldofpencils2017 #instaart #artofdrawingg #drawinganatomyandart #artistic_dome #young_artists_help #art_worldly #art_spotlight #draw #duende_arts_help #artfido #art_realism_ #artistuniversity #gsinghb #sharingart #illustratenow #gurekbal @art.realism

Gurekbal Singh Bhachu describes himself as a self-taught artist, but his work looks like he has spent years studying at some prestigious art school that all of us can only dream about being talented enough to get into.

And yet, he has not.

Bhachu’s Instagram features other artists such as Drake, Lana Del Rey, and actors like Aaron Paul. His feed is a combination of in process work that shows us his step by step techniques to achieving his overall hyper-realistic looks, along with video documentation of him working.

Art is a very lengthy process, I’m glad you guys are sticking around to see the progress of this piece. Here’s a real time look at how long it can take to do minor details lol. But I actually wanted to list the tools I use again down below only because I havent been able to get to the Direct Messages as of yet so here they are: Pencils: Faber Castell 9000 Paper: A4 Bristol Board (Winsor & Newton) Eraser: Tombow Mono Zero Shading: Cotton Bud/Q-tip #art #art_hyperrealism #_tebo_ #artistic_unity_ #artist #pencil #illustration #drawing #sketch #artistic_nation #spotlightonartists #wip #worldofpencils #instaart #artofdrawingg #drawinganatomyandart #artistic_dome #young_artists_help #art_worldly #art_spotlight #draw #duende_arts_help #artfido #art_realism_ #artwork_support #snaptweet #sharingart #illustratenow #pashaparvez @art.realism

Finally finished with my Eminem drawing. Almost went insane trying to add every little detail and truth be told I still didn’t manage to but it is what it is, I think there comes a point where continuing to draw comes at a cost of your sanity lol. Here are the tools and equipment I used in this drawing: Pencils: Faber Castell 9000 Mechanical Eraser: Tombow Mono Zero Paper: A4 Bristol Board (Winsor & Newton) Blending: Cotton Bud/Q-Tip #art #art_hyperrealism #_tebo_ #artistic_unity_ #artist #pencil #illustration #drawing #sketch #artistic_nation #spotlightonartists #wip #worldofpencils #instaart #artofdrawingg #drawinganatomyandart #artistic_dome #young_artists_help #art_worldly #art_spotlight #draw #duende_arts_help #artfido #art_realism_ #artwork_support #snaptweet #sharingart #illustratenow #pashaparvez @art.realism

We don’t know how he does it, but we can only assume it involves a whole bunch of practice, and honestly, he makes us want to be better at everything we attempt to do as well.
