The Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard announced last night, via Twitter that he’d be releasing his first rap single TODAY. We wish we were joking.
But we’re not.
We’re not doubting that Lonzo has any musical talent (then again we never really thought about it) because he’s a basketball player. That’s like…what he does. But apparently the Baller Brand is all about expanding to all industries.
The song is titled “Melo Ball 1” which we’re assuming is a reference to his brother LaMelo’s signature sneaker with Big Baller Brand. In case you happened to miss that big release, here’s the promo video for LaMelo Ball (high school basketball player)’s shoe.
We didn’t know you could get a promo deal while in high school, virtually unproven talent. But then again we’re not all related to Lonzo, or have LaVar Ball as our dad.
We digress. Lonzo fueled the fire by offering this statement in regards to the rap game.
“Don’t nobody listen to Nas anymore[…]Real hip-hop is Migos, Future.”
Rapper Lil B, who clearly has a reputation for cursing NBA players, threatened to enable his hex on the rookie.
Lonzo ball is a few seconds away from being cursed his rookie year on the lakers, nas is hip hop and always relevant, watch ur team – Lil B
