Ronda Rousey Takes Double Whammy Of WoW News At BlizzCon

When you think of UFC star Ronda Rousey, you might not think of an MMO nerd.

But both she and her husband Travis Browne are World of Warcraft super fans, and cosplayed as Death Knights while exploring the floor at BlizzCon last weekend.

#blizzcon was a blast yesterday!!! #DeathKnights #WoW

There was a lot to celebrate for WoW fans from all walks of life. Speculation was that, after Blizzard took down the fan-run vanilla WoW server Nostalrius earlier this year, there was a plan for an official World of Warcraft Classic release. They were right, although Blizzard are playing it close to their chests on details.

They were less cagey about the other big news regarding WoW: the new expansion, Battle for Azeroth. The level cap is rising again, this time to 120, with 6 new playable races and new game modes, including warfronts that hearken back to the Warcraft franchise’s roots as an RTS. Most of the new content looks to be PvE for now, but Blizzard assures us that PvP players will have plenty to sink their teeth into as well.

Ronda and Travis certainly approve of the upcoming expansion:

We got to Demo the new #battleforazeroth expansion at #blizzcon – can’t wait!!!
