#YouTubeBlack is an initiative that seeks to encourage rising black creators to speak loudly and with support. The initiative is partnering up with Howard University to highlight the historically black college’s 150th anniversary at its’ homecoming event.
YouTube will host its first ever stateside FanFest event next Tuesday, with creators from all spaces joining together – dance, fashion, comedy, music, etc. A combined 16 million subscribers will be represented with these creators, and they’ll also be able to gather for meet-and-greets as well as live performances.
Among the creators who will be attending the event is LGBT vlogger Amber’s Closet, parody channel RandomStructureTV, lifestyle vlogger Teala Dunn, and comedian Tré Melvin.
Previous events have been held in Manila, Mumbai, and Hong Kong among others. We’re hoping the first stateside event is a full success!
