Kelly Moon – @YourMoonBaby
Our Bae All Day today is Kelly Moon: Suicide Girl, model, and weed aficionado.
Where are you originally from and why did you move to Los Angeles?
I’m from Sacramento, California. I moved to Long Beach in 2012 and got a job in Hollywood, I moved to Portland for a year and a half a couple years ago but moved back down south and decided Los Angeles proper was my best bet.
Did you always know you would be a model? Or did you have other career plans?
There was definitely always an interest in modeling because I’ve been a performer/exhibitionist since I was a little girl. I loved taking pictures. But for a minute I really wanted to be a photo journalist, I took a lot of photography classes at community college and its definitely one of my passions.
You’re a part of a new series called “Queens of the Stoned Age.” Congrats! Can you give us some details on that?
Thank you! I’m a very avid weed smoker and marijuana advocate, I represent a couple cannabis brands (Lowell Smokes and SG Chill) and I was invited by the awesome people at @MerryJane and @CannabisFeminist to be a part of this amazing 3 part series where women who smoke weed can discuss how cannabis helps us and affects our lives. It was a really beautiful experience to talk to so many bad ass women from all different walks of life who just LOVE weed as much as I do.
With being an influencer, what companies/brands are you currently working with? And what companies/brands will you be working with in the future?
I’m always repping my cannabis brands @Lowellherbco and @Chillwithsg, other than that currently I’m definitely working on expanding my personal hustle. I’m always doing a couple small promo collabs, right now I’m working with @nymphnyc and @evaknoxjewelry! Awesome female owned and operating small businesses.
What’s one thing you are super passionate about that most people don’t know?
Politics. Er, more like fighting for whats right. My personal Facebook is littered with news articles and i start arguments in comments all the time. lmaoooo. Its actually a terrible habit but I hate ignorant bigots and calling out shit bags is my favorite thing on earth. Logic and reason are awesome.
If you’ve ever been on Tinder or a similar dating app, do you have any horror stories?
Ohhh I’ve definitely been on Tinder. I’d go so far to say they’re all horror stories. One in particular was this guy who met up with me, had one beer and then said he was too drunk. He left and i was like uhhh okay. Later found out his roommate worked with my roommate. The guy told him he didn’t think I was cute. I laughed. Dude still hits me up on Snapchat to this day. smh.
Do you find that the response you get on social media from fans is mostly positive? How do you deal with the haters?
It is totally mostly positive. I deal with the haters by laughing at them. They’re wrong? Why would I let that get to me haha. People who have haters feed them way too much, that’s why they stick around. Don’t people know anything about stray animals?</
Looking toward the future, what do you have planned next?
So much rad shit on the horizon. My roommate @millouxsuicide and I are starting a web series called @immaculatespliff, it’s going be out by the end of the year. Its gonna be a skit type comedy show but with hot chicks who smoke weed.
What kind of music do you listen to in preparation for a shoot?
Honestly, anything as long as its loud and makes me want to dance.
What’s one item (other than your phone) do you always have in your bag?
A spliff :)[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
