Four Times YouTubers Used Their Platform For An Amazing Cause.
Shane Dawson’s documentaries might have tricked you into believing that most YouTuber’s are more like Charles Manson than Mother Theresa but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Many influencers use their platform to bring awareness to issues that are often neglected.
Not only have they called on their large following to donate to eradicating terminal illnesses, donating supplies to impoverished communities, and bringing awareness to mental health but they’ve opened up their own wallets as well.
1. YouTube Group ‘Sidemen’ Comprised of KSI, Vikkstar123, Zerkaa, Behzinga, Miniminter, TBJZL, and Wroetoshaw Raise $87,000 For Charity! The Sidemen came together to battle it out in a soccer match against the YouTube Allstars team and ultimately took home the big prize for Young Minds Trust. The organization aims to empower and provide support to young people dealing with mental health issues.
2. King Bach Teamed Up With The Children’s Hospital of LA for #MakeMarchMatter to raise funds, donate items, as well as hang out and play games with children who were admitted to the hospital.
3. Zoe Sugg, Better Known As Zoella, told fans who desperately wanted to shower the YouTuber with gifts on her birthday to donate to Mind Charity instead.
