Influencers Celebrate Black History Month
On the first day of Black History Month, influencers are reflecting on the 28-day long celebration and what it means to them. The month of February is reserved as a time to honor people and events in the history of the African diaspora.
Many choose to celebrate this month by educating others on the history and words of Black activists, scientists, doctors, entertainers and more who have since passed. Their sacrifices helped pave the way for younger generations to follow in their footsteps.
“As we begin
#BlackHistoryMonth we honor those who marched, organized and legislated in pursuit of equity and justice. We honor #shirley #coretta #martin #malcom #alfreda #elma and so many more. I’m grateful for the pathways they carved so that we may carry on our work today,” shared Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley.
