Influencers React To Soulja Boy’s Claims That He “Made” Drake

Soulja Boy’s interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club has gone viral after he ranted about paving the way for this generation of rappers and claimed that he is partly responsible for Drake’s success.

Rapper Soulja Boy has been on one lately after going on several rants about his peers including Tyga and Drake.  In an interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, he shared that without him there would be no Drake and even accused the Canadian lyricist of copying his flow.

“The n***a that’s hiding his kid from the world but the world wanna hide from his kid? Y’all n***as better stop playin’ with me . . . Stop playing me like I ain’t teach Drake everything he knows. He copied my whole fucking flow! Word for word, bar for bar.”

Soulja went on to explain why he is a pioneer in the Hip Hop game by noting that he paved the way for this current group of SoundCloud rappers who rose to fame independently with the help of the internet.

“They said I killed hip-hop and now they doing exactly like I did and I’m being shunned upon. I’m the reason Y’all doing this. I’m the reason why all these artists have social media. Y’all should thank me. Every artist in the game, all y’all record labels, y’all owe me five percent, bro. … Y’all gon’ respect it.”

Although the interview comes after a slew of social media rants (see below), out of all the current stars he’s dragged, Drake is undoubtedly the largest.

The consensus on social media with Influencers, celebrities, and rap fans seems to be that Soulja Boy is 100% correct with all his claims except him taking credit for Drake’s style, flow, and career.  Check out what Influencers had to say on social media:
