The 20-year-old entertainer is putting the US government to shame after his JUST goods foundation linked up with First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church to bring a mobile water filtration system to in Flint, Michigan.
Is there anything Jaden Smith can’t do? In between dropping his latest album “The Sunset Tapes: A Cool Tape Story” and starring in “Skate Kitchen” and “Life in a Year”, the actor-singer has been cooking up a solution for a problem that’s been plaguing the residents of Flint, Michigan for over 5+ years.
In 2014, Flint’s water crisis made headlines after it was discovered that lead was leaking from the city’s water pipes. Residents were instructed to use only bottled water. The city has been working on replacing the pipes however the repairs are ongoing. Purchasing bottled water has become expensive for those in the low-income neighborhood and water bottle donations have declined.
His JUST goods foundation in partnership with First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church developed a mobile water filtration system that will rid the Flint water of contaminants. The church posted an update on their official Facebook page and shared that they will continue to give out free five-gallon water jugs while testing the “Water Box.”
