Japanese Billionaire Yusaku Maezawa Now Holds The The World Record For Twitter Retweets.
The founder of Japanese clothing brand Zozo Inc., Yusaku Maezawa, now holds the world record on Twitter for the most retweets for a single post. In the record-breaking post, the entrepreneur asked social media users to retweet for a chance to win $925,000. Winners would be selected at random and would have to split up the prize money with 99 other people, but a slim chance at pocketing a small fortune was enough to blow up Yusaku’s mentions. The tweet has been reposted over 5 million times!

This isn’t the first time Yusaku made history. He made headlines after he paid to be the first private passenger flown to the moon by Elon Musk and SpaceX.
The previous record-holder was a tweet from May 2017 by Carter Wilkerson. In an attempt to win free chicken nuggets for a year from Wendy’s, he was able to get over 3.5 million retweets. Although he didn’t get close to the 18 million that the fast food chain requested, they still let him claim the prize.
