The artist formerly known as “LaLaSizaHands89” is headed to our television screens as ‘Tia’ in the BET Network reboot of ‘Boomerang.’
Lena Waithe and Halle Berry have teamed up to executive produce a 10-episode half-hour series reboot of the classic film ‘Boomerang.’
“I’m thrilled to team up with Lena on this project as she is without a doubt a leading voice of her generation and a trailblazer in her own right. I’m truly excited to be a part of bringing this iconic and beloved film to the small screen,” Halle Berry shared.
Digital media superstar Lala Milan will make her television debut as ‘Tia’ on the series. BET dropped an official character description for Tia which they note is similar to Lala’s real-life personality.
“a misguided performance artist with high ambitions. She is a classically trained dancer who wants to topple the patriarchy. She’s charismatic and wildly unique. Tia is an activist at heart, but she doesn’t mind being a little ratchet every now and then.”
Although this is the first time that Lala will be a series regular she’s made an appearance on TV before. She had a small role in TNT’s “Claws” with Karrueche Tran and Niecey Nash. Lala’s also been preparing for this moment since the day she relocated to Los Angeles.
She was simultaneously making viewers erupt with laughter on various social media channels and auditioning for serious acting roles. It didn’t take long before Lala made a name for herself and now her career is taking off.
