‘Best Shot’ YouTube Premium Series Produced by LeBron James Drops July 18th!
NBA finals were last week and in honor of the sport, basketball star LeBron James has teamed up with YouTube Premium to launch ‘Best Shot,’ a basketball-themed series. The eight-episode series follows ESPN analyst and former NCAA champion Jay Williams mentor and mold a high school team whose members come from tough backgrounds. The goal of the team is to achieve their first state championship in over a decade for Newark Central High School boys basketball team.
The series will not only capture the team lead by Williams and assisted by Shawn ‘OG’ McCray, longtime coach of the school, but it also gets personal. The cameras will see the mentors help the kids through homelessness, absentee parents and other personal struggles faced by the young hopefuls.
The series is being executive produced by LeBron James who plays for his home state team the Cleveland Cavaliers which he is said to be departing from. The basketball player who is known to be one of the greatest plays in last week’s finals with an injured hand. Maverick Carter, LeBron’s childhood friend, manager, and president of his production company SpringHill Entertainment is also an executive producer on the basketball series. Directed by Michael John Warren (Jay-Z ‘Fade to Black’ and ‘Drake: Better Than Good Enough’) Best Shot is set to premiere on the NBA YouTube Channel on July 18th.
