Actress and digital star Liza Koshy has launched her YouTube series ‘Liza OnDemand’ alongside co-star Kimiko Glenn (“Orange is the New Black” and “Waitress”) and Travis Cole (“Superstor”).
The series, which follows comedy queen Liza through her journey of becoming the ultimate taskmaster premiered today, June 27th on her YouTube channel of over 15 million subscribers.
As a gift to her fans YouTube Premium, YouTube’s streaming subscription service, is premiering the first 2 episodes of the show free of charge. In the first episode Liza is struggling to juggle her multiple gigs, a sick cat, a jigsaw puzzle and a trip to a pop up dessert in Los Angeles? Liza becomes confused about what her main hustle is and how to find the time to pursuit it. Click the link below to watch the Pilot Episode 1:
It gets real in episode 2! Titled “Smile” the episode shines a light of inequality in the workforce when Liza is passed over on a few jobs for being a woman. In this episode Koshy also deals with unwanted attention and cat calls while walking down the street. You know she’s going to make us laugh, but the fact that this show will also hit on these very vital issues is a plus.
Liza On Demand is available for streaming now on YouTube Premium. The series is executive produced by Liza herself and written by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont (“Josie & The Pussycats” and “Mary + Jane”). The series is produced by Above Average, a digital-first comedy studio founded in 2012 by Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.
We caught up with both Kimiko Glenn & Travis Coles at this years VidCon to chat about ‘Liza on Demand‘ and more.
