Ninja Won’t Stream With Women Because Draaaaama!

What do Ninja and VP Mike Pence have in common? They’re both afraid to talk to a woman they’re not related to.

That’s the latest news from Tyler Blevins, aka Twitch’s most bankable content creator. Talking to Polygon, he said that he refused to play with female streamers because he doesn’t like the level of scrutiny that puts on his very public relationship with wife Jessica ‘Jghosty’ Blevins.

“If I have one conversation with one female streamer where we’re playing with one another, and even if there’s a hint of flirting, that is going to be taken and going to be put on every single video and be clickbait forever,” Ninja said. Because that’s literally the only clickbait people ever produce about Ninja. Exclusively.

Blevins made the decision independently of his wife, he claims. “There hasn’t been a single female gamer or streamer on Twitch or anything like that who’s been upset about that. I honestly think that… it’s just kinda like a respect thing.”

While that might have been true while his policy wasn’t public knowledge, it’s certainly not any more. Twitter has been raging back and forth all weekend after the news came out. In news that will surprise no one, it’s mainly been men supporting his decision, but women in the streamer community have not pulled their punches.

What do you think? Is Ninja just respecting his relationship and trying to keep his life normal and drama-free? Or is he throwing down a streamer glass ceiling to keep more charismatic female Twitch personalities from leapfrogging him?
