PewDiePie And Cody Ko Weigh In On The TikTok Phenomenon

Popular YouTubers PewDiePie and Cody Ko did a deep dive into the cringe-filled social networking platform TikTok to find out what all the hype was about.

Video sharing app TikTok, formerly musical.ly, has become extremely popular but some influencers like PewDiePie and Cody Ko aren’t feeling the platform. But TikTok has over 500 million monthly active users worldwide and is quickly becoming the next big social networking site.  Much like the aforementioned YouTube veterans, many influencers prefer the traditional social media sites that gave them their start like Vine and of course YouTube.

“Why?! Why?! I still have no answer to my question, ”PewDiePie questions in his video. “Why do all these kids record to begin with?!”

The app allows you to use heavy filters, various other effects, and music which do most of the work.  Cody Ko’s main complaint is that without the use of the special effects the videos would be boring and look ridiculous.  He complained that it gives untalented people the impression that they have some sort of skill when really it’s all due to the app.

After reacting to and reenacting the cringiest videos on the app, PewDiePie and Cody Ko started to understand the app’s appeal.  Both guys realized although they look and feel foolish while making the videos, the process is extremely fun.

“TikTok. I love it! You know what, I never thought I would actually say that,” PewDiePie says towards the end of the video.

Cody Ko also professes his newfound love for TikTok in his latest vlog as well.

“This is awesome.  Tik Tok is awesome!”
