Unfortunately, for T-Series that PewDiePie reign just won’t let up!
PewDiePie can rest easy on his throne after hitting the 70 million subscriber mark on YouTube. The 29-year-old wasn’t projected to amass that many followers until next month. But thanks to his loyal fanbase and fellow YouTuber Mr. Beast, Christmas has come early. PewDiePie has been the highest followed individual creator on YouTube for a while but Indian film and music production company T-Series was quickly becoming the highest followed channel on the platform.
Social media stats tracking site SocialBlade predicted that T-Series would take over by now and that PewDiePie wouldn’t gain 70 million subscribers until December. Despite this victory for PewDiePie, SocialBlade still believes that T-Seres will dethrone the YouTuber this month!
While PewDiePie should definitely take some time off to enjoy this win, he’ll need to enlist the help of fans and peers to keep him on the top. Mr. Beast pulled off an incredible marketing stunt where he bought billboards, did local radio interviews, spoke with residents, put up flyers, and bought ads on websites, tv, and radio to urge people to subscribe to PewDiePie’s channel. But I’m sure it wasn’t cheap so let’s hope he’s feeling generous one more time.
