Snapchat linked up with Amazon to bring an amazing new feature ‘Visual Search’ that lets you snap a picture of an item or barcode, which will prompt a notification giving you the option to purchase it on Amazon.
Snapchat and Amazon’s new ‘Visual Search’ feature is a lifesaver for anyone who’s too shy or too slow to tap a fashion-forward stranger and ask where they got a particular item from. All you have to do is point your camera at the article of clothing you want to purchase and snap.
That will prompt an on-screen notification from Amazon alerting you of the item’s availability, price and giving you the option to buy. Once you tap the notification it’ll take you straight to the Amazon app or your web browser if you don’t have it downloaded on your phone.
Although I can list a ton of reasons why ‘Visual Search’ is one of the platforms most beneficial features, Snapchat says its main goal is to cut down on browsing time for shoppers who know exactly what they want.
“Snapchat has always been the fastest way to communicate and now it’s the fastest way to shop,” the company wrote in a blog post.
