YouTuber, Austin Jones, has just been arrested on child pornography charges.
Having risen to fame through his acapella covers of various artists songs, his channel currently has over 500k subscribers.
Monday night, Jones was arrested on multiple counts of child pornography and child pornography production charges. He is currently being held in federal custody while awaiting trial.
The decision to hold him without bail came because they believe that he is a “risk to the community and there’s a danger he’ll flee.”
Unfortunately, this isn’t Jones first run in regarding unsavory actions towards kids.
Back in 2015, Jones ended up issuing an ‘apology’ via Facebook to his fans due to the fact that he was asking underage girls for videos of them twerking.
“I’d have conversations online with girls that would involve me asking them to create a video of themselves twerking. Sometimes I’d make videos of myself doing some twerk moves in return. Here’s the truth: I NEVER asked them to do anything more than send a twerking video. Nothing EVER went beyond that.”
His current charges involve, once again, asking for videos from minors, except this time Jones is being charged for asking a 14 year old girl to send him sexually explicit videos to prove that she’s his biggest fan.
Other girls have come forward to say that they too have had experiences with Jones.
Austin Jones has yet to release a statement regarding his arrest, but if convicted, he will serve a minimum of 30 years in prison.
