Bae All Day: Courtney Tailor

Courtney Tailor - @courtneytailor

Today our Bae All Day is the fabulous Courtney Tailor who is a model and bikini competitor documenting her fitness journey on her wildly popular Instagram.

Growing up in Texas, what would you say are some of the cultural differences you’ve experienced living in LA now?

In Austin, everyone is kind of a “normal” person with a “normal” job. In LA, it seems as if everyone you meet is a musician, actor, model, etc. Also, in Austin, people tend to be in relationships more, whereas in LA, it’s more of a hookup scene.  I have to point out a similarity, though….. they’re both weird as hell!

What initially got you involved in modeling and when did you first start? Who would you say your influencers are, if any?

I wanted to act and it kind of just came with the territory. I discovered my passion for fitness a few years back and I started hearing from brands more and more. I have a few fitness favorites, but my friend Ashley Kaltwasser is definitely worth a mention!

Can you let us in on an embarrassing moment from a model casting?

A past agent sent me on a casting for a clothing brand. I walked into a room full of 6 foot tall rail-thin women. I was like, “Uhhh, I don’t belong here.” I’m thick, I have muscle, and I eat. That was an awkward one.

What’s the best advice would you give to an upcoming fitness model?

Build up your social media as much as you can. You don’t need hundreds of thousands of followers to get endorsements anymore. A lot of brands want people with 10K. Just make sure you put out good content, reach out to brands, etc. Competing is an amazing way to get yourself noticed by magazines and sponsors as well.

What’s one thing you are super passionate about that most people don’t know?

I love horseback riding. I had a horse named Hippo for a couple of years- you can guess why he got that name. I haven’t ridden since being in Texas, and I’m itching to get back into it. There are a few stables in LA, but I want a BARN. Down and dirty.

Single or taken?! What’s your #1 turn off? What’s your number one turn on?

Single as a pringle.  Good riddance!
Turn offs would be lying, smoking, or big egos.
Turn ons are having a sense of humor, a nice smile, and keeping it 100 with me.

Who’s your favorite Instagram story you’re watching right now?!

Mine. My mom says I’m hilarious…..

What’s next for you? What are some of your future plans or things you want to accomplish next?

I actually have an exciting meeting with a major television network this week- you’ll be the first to know if anything exciting comes of it. I also just signed with my first commercial agent. They are one of the best agencies out there and I’m already auditioning a lot, so that’s awesome. My manager and I have plenty of things cooking.
