Jessica Carbo is a beautiful and talented fashion designer, model, and social media influencer based in Los Angeles, CA. She’s best known for her Instagram presence and fun, funky upcycled jackets, which she will be officially selling to the public on her new website, BadMoodLA, soon!

When you were a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

“When I was a child I wanted to be either a fashion designer or a singer, but looks like I’m leaning more fashion and the internet these days.”

How did you first get involved with social media? What was it first like when you realized you gained a significant following and people really cared?

“I first got involved in social media when I was I think 17. My friend introduced me to Instagram and I started to get active. I sort of noticed I was gaining followers when I began working with a friend on her clothing line. We did a lot of shoots, and I got exposed to a ton of photographers who then asked me to shoot on my own. Eventually, I got involved with a bunch of YouTubers. That’s when I really noticed how many followers I had. I didn’t really know what to think of it or how to really get going, but my friends who were all already in social media kind of helped me through it.”

Can you tell me a little bit about what Bad Mood LA is?

“BadMoodLA is my clothing company, and I actually am just about to launch it! I make custom jackets and jewelry. I’ve been upcycling jackets and t-shirts for a few years, and finally decided to actively do something about it when friends began asking me to make one for them.”

What’s one thing you are super passionate about, that most people don’t know?

“I have always been really passionate about art and fashion, but I never really liked to display my work until now, but I figured why not combine the two and start my own line?!”

If you could be anyone for a day (dead or alive) who would it be and why? 

“If I could be anyone for a day I’d be Angelina Jolie because she’s absolutely beautiful, and such a bad ass.”

Single or taken?! What’s your #1 turn off? What’s your #1 turn on? 

“I am currently single. My biggest turn off would be someone who is completely closed-minded. My biggest turn on I think would be if they can go into a room full of people they don’t know and immediately start talking to everyone and making friends.”

What’s next for Jess? What are some of your future plans?

“For now, I’m just going with the flow, taking everything day by day. I’m spending a lot of time getting my line up and learning as much as I can.”

If you were stranded on an island and could only bring two things with you what would it be and why? 

“If I was stranded I’d bring my phone, and a Mifi (my own personal wifi because who could be without their phone haha).”
