She claims she is a shapeshifter, goddess of ancient time, and has superpowers…she’s Tila Tequila, and yes, she’s CRAZY.
Myspace and Tila Tequila: it was a match made in social media heaven.
At least that’s what we thought at first…
Tila Tequila, whose real name is Thien Thanh Thi Nguyen, was an American television and social media personality. Her nickname was the Queen of Myspace, and rightfully so. She joined Myspace in 2003, after being kicked off Napster multiple times, and garnered a record-breaking 1.4 million friends on the social website.
Too bad Myspace didn’t really get to stick around.
After the Myspace phase, Tila moved into television, appearing in her own reality show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, and was followed up with a sequel, A Shot at Love II. Following a below average musical attempt and sex tape controversy, the Myspace Queen returned to television as a contestant on the sixteenth season of Celebrity Big Brother, only to be kicked off a day later after controversial statements she made.
And what were these controversial statements? Well, that’s where the evolution of Tila Tequila became the devolution.
Instead of maintaining a level of decency in her attempts to remain a social media personality, Tila has fallen from grace in a most distasteful way.
So what’s new with Tila Tequila?
For one, she is a self-declared Nazi. In December 2013, Tila posted an article on her website entitled “Why I Sypmathize with Hitler: Part I.”…umm, what?!
She later stated her views on Hitler weren’t coming from an antisemitic point of view. We seriously doubt that…she has posted pro-Hitler/antisemitic comments on her Facebook page. Along with a photo of Tila as a sexy Nazi posing in front of a photo of Auschwitz, Facebook followers were enraged and Facebook consequently closed her account and removed the material. She’s back on Facebook, no Hitler, but there’s plenty of crazy.
There was also that short span of time on Twitter.
An outspoken supporter of Donald Trump, Tila attended an alt-right National Policy Institute meeting celebrating Trump’s election, and posted this photo:
The caption read: “Seig heil!”…her account was suspended by Twitter.
The story of Tila Tequila is a truly sad one. One of the first influencers of the modern era, she has fallen down and can’t seem to get up. The details of Tila’s unraveling is a deeply engrossing rabbit hole and we can’t figure out why it’s happening.
Oh by the way, Tila Tequila is a mother…so there’s that.
